Founded by Cistercian monks, it was the Abbey of La Fertes wine source for nearly 7 centuries. After the revolution, it was owned by a local family for 200 years. In 2004, it was acquired by the Pascal family, and by 2006, it had been fully restored and brought back to prominence. In 2015, they completed construction of their gravity fed vat room, which has 4 levels (3 below ground).
